Where is barnacle bargains

The establishment was so clearly well-run and everything was great. We had a king-size room that was huge, and certainly didn't miss the TV. I read another review that mentioned thin walls and so on, but our room had no such problem. Great location too - just like yards off Main street, a short walk but out of earshot of the hubbub. It was a very humid weekend when we came as well, but the fan in the window probably did as well as an AC unit would have done.

My only issue was the antique bathtub, which was very cool, but hazardous for getting in and out of. Regardless, I would definitely stay here again. The location could not be more perfect right off the top of Main Street , and the staff feels more like friends welcoming you back again rather than the bill-collectors. Small charms like comfortable chairs on the patio, communal key hangings, freshly baked cookies in the afternoon and homemade breakfasts will remind visitors who are familiar with the island of what Nantucket should be and it will definitely make island newcomers want to come back again.

Overall, a very precious inn on Nantucket and somewhere I hope to visit again. The church across the street is St. Paul's, not St. Be sure to stop into St. Paul's to see the Tiffany windows! The owners, Phil and Susie, are great hosts - very warm and friendly people. This inn is "old Nantucket" at its most charming, but be warned - if you are coming in the heat of the summer, there is no air conditioning! Electric fans are supplied in every room, but it still can get quite HOT during heat waves!

For the most part, the Nantucket breezes should keep your room cool. I highly recommend the spectacular breakfast served on the porch and or patio. Everything was delicious! Skip to main content. I climbed up some boulders for a morning meditation and was overwhelmed with gratitude for this day and for this life. Of course there is beauty all around us, but this morning, I felt like I was the only person for miles around. Changes my whole perspective up, in a very humbling, grounding way. It was great to hear some live music and the tips generated are so greatly appreciated by all of us.

We headed North to Washington where we camped at a lavender farm! Anyways, Marc did some fancy maneuvering to get the trailer parked in the driveway, and we packed up and headed toward the beach.

They live on the Puget Sound, and have a great beach just down the street from them. We swam in the inlet it was cold!!! It felt soooo good. My favorite part was floating on my back, head submerged, suspended in the water, gazing at the majestic Cascade Mountains in the distance.

I had some serious revelations about life, and then I saw a loose seal in the distance and retreated back to shore in order to not be eaten. I have never seen so many perfectly intact sand dollars in one place!!!

I collected some and I plan to do some sort of art project with them. Marc who the girls quickly adopted as their uncle gave some quality swimming lessons and Frank got a couple laps in he prefers sleeping on the warm rocks … The Chad and Marc took the girls back home to start cooking dinner, while Melissa and I hung back to enjoy some beers, heart to heart convos, and an absolutely gorgeous sunset together. I am sooo happy to have met her, and am amazed at how quickly I felt a connection to her.

We hopped into her badass Jeep and headed back to the house where the boys had hot dogs and cheeseburgers awaiting us. The girls coerced Marc into eating entirely too many jelly beans while us other adults enjoyed some fine whiskey and lots of laughs. Once again, not planned at all, but I love this aspect of life on the road and not having a schedule or itinerary. We stopped in Astoria for a quick dinner on the water with a beautiful sunset, and made it to the house around 11pm.

I could hear the comforting sound of the ocean from our bed, and was quickly lulled to sleep. Thank you for reading! Like Like. You are commenting using your WordPress.
